These terms explain what Free Online Tools provides and the reasonable expectations on both sides. By using the site you agree to them.
What we provide
A collection of free, browser-based utilities: twelve tools on the main page (JSON Formatter, Base64, URL Encoder, Unit Converter, Color Picker, Regex Tester, QR Code Generator, Markdown Editor, Text Diff, Password Generator, Image Compress and PDF Merge) plus the five classic tool pages (coin flipper, password generator, name picker, group generator and classroom timer). No account, no signup and no payment is required.
The tools run on your device
Text you type and files you select are processed in your own browser. We do not ask you to upload them to us and we do not receive their contents. See our Privacy Policy for the limited technical data that is collected.
Third-party libraries
A few tools load open-source libraries from the jsDelivr content delivery network (browser-image-compression, marked, pdf-lib and qrcode-generator), and the site uses Google Analytics. When you open one of those tools, your browser requests the needed file from that provider, which sees a standard request from your IP address. Those libraries are covered by their own licences and terms.
Provided as is, with no warranty
The tools are supplied as is and as available, without warranty of any kind. They are everyday utilities, and they can be wrong — a mistyped input, an unusual file, a browser limitation or a bug. Check anything important before you rely on it: verify a generated password works where you use it, confirm converted units and color values, review compressed images and generated PDFs before sending them, and do not treat the regex, JSON or diff output as validated code.
We do not accept liability for loss or damage arising from use of the site, including loss of data. Keep a copy of anything you process.
Acceptable use
Please use the tools lawfully and only with material you have the right to work with — for example, do not compress, convert or share images, PDFs or text that belong to someone else without permission. Do not use the site to generate passwords or codes for unauthorised access to any account or system, and do not use it in a way that overloads or disrupts it for others.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site changes — new tools, removed tools, or a change in how the site is run. The revision date at the top of this page shows when it last changed, and continuing to use the site afterwards means accepting the updated terms.
